My mind is exhausted, to exhausted to shut down so I might sleep.
I long for those sweet dreams to come my way again so those I’ll keep.
So much to do in so little time. If only I were superhuman it’d all be done at the drop of a dime.
My next court appearance is coming upon me soon. I laugh thinking about standing before the judge busting out a rhyme.
I’m sure everyone would get a good laugh. Maybe even think it’s cute.
But I’m not feeling up to changing into a pink jump suite.
Depending the mood of the judge that afternoon, I’d rather be safe than sorry. I’ll just keep my rhyme in my head where it belongs.
At least I’m not that woman over there wearing only a thong. I wonder what was going on for her to come donning only her skin.
I’m surprised the bible thumpers filling the room aren’t shouting to her it’s a sin.
Hell, if they did I don’t think it’d phase her much, if at all.
Is she even there, or well, I mean? Obviously, I know she’s there. I see her sitting on the bench just a few rows back, seemingly lost in some other world. But if she’s in her own world, who’s the poser taking her place?
Turn your head Tina. Stop staring at her hoping you’ll recognize her face.
She does look awfully familiar to me though. Maybe we’ve met in another life altogether, hell who knows?
My name is called and I abruptly stand at attention. Slowly walking to the podium before the judge.
Here it goes, he’s about to lay into me. But as the words leave his mouth I suddenly go deaf.
I’m freaking the hell out, panick rising in my chest.I quickly try to think of what to say.
But as the words get caught in my throat, I hear the damn near naked woman start talking. Suddenly I realize she’s saying the words I was literally just thinking of saying myself.
I know she can’t hear inside my head, that’s just way too crazy to even fathom.
My hands begin to shake, and I start to get dizzy, feeling lightheaded like the entire courtroom is spinning.
No sooner than she starts speaking, I realize why she’s so familiar. But it couldn’t be! It’s just not possible.
This can’t be. The face I first looked upon isn’t the one I’m seeing now.
I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole. Tick tock, tick tock, hurry up times wasting away. Have a very important date. Mustn’t be late.
My eyes start fluttering. I break out in a cold sweat knowing I’m about to hit the floor.
The look of the woman isn’t the same. That’s when reality dawns.
Before my head hits the carpeted floor, I turn to catch one more look. Just a glance is all I need then I’ll know.
It wasn’t her I looked upon with such familiarity.
Just before my eyes close and I go completely out, it was never her face I knew, or even saw in the first place.
She want she at all,
She was me!!!
