Pastor: Steve Furtick
The link I shared above is on a sermon by Pastor Steven Furtive. I was checking my notifications on Facebook last night and read that one of my friends shared this video. So naturally I was curious about the kind of video this person had shared so I clicked on it. I began watching it and quickly noticed it was a Christian man preaching to a stadium, church, arena. The subject was on your thoughts. How your thoughts can make you feel difficult an cause you to act or think negatively.
When I tell you guys that this subject he’s speaking on hit home and felt so personal. Man. I encourage you to click on the link and at least check it out. Yes he is a Christian man but he isn’t shoving the bible down your throat and bible thumping telling you your going to hell if you don’t ask for forgiveness or change your ways. Never in any way would I try and shove religion down someone’s throat. Matter of fact I consider myself non-denominational. Yes I do believe in Jesus Christ and that He died on the cross for our sins. In no way shape or form am I trying or even suggesting that you choose my personal beliefs. You believe what ever you want to. I value and respect your beliefs just as I want you to value and respect mine.
The reason I’m even suggesting you guys to check this particular sermon out is because he’s telling everyone about the power of your thoughts.
When you are feeling bad or having doubts on whether you consider yourself not good enough. That you won’t make it or succeed in life. That you need to shove those negative thoughts out of your mind replacing them with positive ones telling yourself that YOU CAN, YOU WILL, YOU ARE, going to make it.
What was that ‘feeling’ before you began to ‘feel’ it?
So, if your replace your thoughts from being negative to positive, those self doubts will go away and you’ll be able to better your mind and positivity about yourself. He also talks about how all people are fake. Putting on a show out in public. In front of their friends or whoever their around. We are all hiding something from someone that we don’t want them to know. He goes on to make the congregation laugh saying, ‘I don’t care how much your shoes cost you ain’t cool’.
He’s more than a Pastor. He also seems to be a motivational speaker. I won’t know how hearing this specific lecture will make you feel on the inside. But I hope it will pump you up like it did me. I was so amped and excited and I honestly feel that when I heard it, it lit a fire on the inside of me that made me so anxious and all the more hungry to finish creating my website. Plus the feeling that I could continue choosing to stay sober.
For some reason these past few days I have had this burning desire in the pit of my stomach maybe kind of up into my chest, of wanting to do more with my life other than just fast food till I die. I told my son last night I was thinking about if I possibly could go back to school to take psychology/counseling/therapist. See where it takes me since all I have ever wondered was the human mind. It fascinates me at the things people can think into existence and say they are feeling.
It’s an endless possibility when one ponders on such things as the human mind. It can take you many places. Some you may not want to visit. Others can be very interesting.
There are so many beautiful things we create. Whether it’s from profound literature writing great pieces of your own to being an artist painting on a blank canvas, seemingly thinking of something exquisite that’s full of life and bursting with color to add to the stark white.
No matter the path you choose to take in life continue to be open and positive about it and all the while telling yourself that you will succeed and that you can do it. I have faith in you.
